The Sarek jacket is the first piece of Fjallraven that I have ever bought and I am feeling a pretty disappointed that it seems to wet out at the slightest sign of rain. Fjallraven claim that G1000 is water resistant but I have found it anything but. I really like the feel of the jacket and the design is great. WebJust one thing you need to keep in mind is that G-1000 comes slightly waxed from the factory and that will be gone after washing it once or twice. Personally I like the G-1000 better when it's not waxed, it attracts less dirt and dust, but waxed g-1000 is somewhat water repellant and that will be gone after washing. WebI have found with Fjallraven is best to wash out the wax. Use a couple of coats of silicone spray dry between each coat. (I use Jack Pyke) that acts like a base coat of waterproof ness, I then apply a coat of Greenland wax just to give it the fjallraven wax look and nice smell.
