WebDec 31, 2009 · A GPU should idle between 30 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees (assuming you have the driver set to "optimal power" and not "prefer max performance". This will keep idle clock speeds at around 300mhz and PCIe speeds at 1.0 (until needed). At max usage, your GPU should NOT be exceeding 85 degrees Celsius.
