Its usually used because a linked pet will attract the final boss' aggro, and if it were up close smacking the boss, it'd open up every melee combatant to being blasted with the boss' explosive shot.

Mount = D Call pet = R Pet sit = ctrl+Z *These controls are optional though. You can pick whatever you're comfortable with, but these are just the ones that I find comfortable! For Syphrid I noticed his pets kept dying a lot.
WebBest I can think of is setting them as hotkeys on the pet hotkey bar + assigning a keybind to them and maybe set up a macro with hotkeys so you can use the macro to quickly summon, use the skills, and desummon.
